Bianca Casady's Art! ♥

Lil' sis' Bianca (from CocoRosie) is - aside from playing various sound-producing toys and singing with that cotton sweet voice of hers - the brain behind the visual side of their refreshing, paradoxical mix of stuff like rainbows and swastikas, and matching moustaches with pretty dresses.

Bianca grew up living in industrial workspaces with her mother, who is an artist, and always had her own corner to work in. She started taking pictures when she was nine, and by twelve she was really serious about it. From there she started drawing in notebooks and on walls.

She uses art to sweep out her subconscious and discover her past. She likes to take away the power of symbols by putting them toghether in the same playground, forcing them to take off their clothes. "It's all about personal transformation" she says.

What the Noah's Ark cover she made - depicting a unicorn, a horse and a zebra-unicorn having a ménage trios - is all about? It's about ecstasy, nature, sex and spiritual enlightenment.

What you see above is a big red bone in one of her instalations. Her name at the time she did that exposure was Red Bone Slim, so the bone was a way to manifest this persona into another reality.

"A raimbow warrior's weapon is the power of their own will."
